THE OPERA SHIP
A BIG SUCCESS & INSTANT BANKRUPTCY

The first and only opera was quite a success, except that the Dutch Ministry of Culture decided to withdraw her promised 50.000 guilders of subsidy by not having faith in the budget. By doing so she proved to be quite right. The tour, bound for Moscow, had to be disrupted in Germany. The real disaster came when the lead soprano, Josje van der Land, proved to be much more talented as an obsessive lawyer. He persecuted the ship five years long with juridical procedures, putting her a the chain. That proved to be a blessing, as it facilitated the creation of an artist collectiv.
